Mad Fun At Hard Rock Cafe

Something really exhilarating happened last night! And I would have to saaaayy woooohoooo!! Fine, I even haven't gotten my voice back since the Eheads concert and I think I'm losing more than half of what's left again. I'm beginning to wonder when I would have my normal voice back.

I dunno but I felt like I was in dire need of gimmicks, admittedly I was deprived of it during the past months. I barely saw my old time friends for quite some time and I don't think we'll be going out until April. Sooo, I, my sister and her boyfie went to Glorietta yesterday to hang out and chill out at Hard Rock Cafe before we go home.

Guess who we found?? TEE-HEEE!

So that was a bit close. But this one's closer! Wooohoo hahaha! Fanatic much? Who cares? I think this happens rarely and I should definitely take advantage of it, yes? :D Oh, Ely! Haylabyuu.

Met the other members of Pupil too and had a quick chat with their drummer, Wendell. :) Oh, how I remember those days when I used to perform in various bars in the metro too. Alright, maybe not as posh as Hard Rock, but still this is quite reminiscent. Gone are those days. So so gone. Haha!

Side story: As we were waiting for them to play, Jay, NU 107's DJ tried to make the crowd even livelier by having someone (preferably a fresh grad) to chitchat with. And since we were located near the stage and was very vulnerable to approaches, I kept on stuffing and munching chips and fish and chips and fish and chips (if it was only possible to put them all in my mouth, I tell you, I would have done so!) just so I wouldn't be called (because I would look too busy eating!). But my sister and her boyfie were very kind to me and pointed me even! I was a BIT tipsy soooo.. HAHA!

Jay: Hi! What's your name?
Me: Jam
Jay: Hi Jam! What do you do?
Me: Will just be graduating soon. :)
Jay: What did you take up?
Me: BS Management
Jay: Do you have any plans yet?
Me: Hmm. Sleep and rest for the next 2 months!
Jay: That was a clever plan you have. :) You can actually make that 6 instead. Where did you graduate if you don't mind me asking?
Me: Ateneo de Manila
Jay: Alright, we have a smart girl right here. Okay so for my question.. As I was mentioning earlier, NU Rock (blah blah blah blah)
(Okay so just when he said I'm smart, that's when I didn't hear his question properly, I thought he was asking for their tagline.)
Me: NU Rock 107, home of NU Rock
Jay: No, I meant, frequency. 107 blank blank.
Me: Ohh. Hmmm.
(Of course I know what frequency means! Of course!!! And so I was about to make a wild guess and say, 107 dot 5! Why in the world do I always stop myself from making wild guesses! I always knew that was 107.5!!! I could have bagged the freebies! BUT INSTEAD I SAID...)
Me: U-oh! SORRRRY!
Jay: Hahaha! That's okay, Jam! Thanks for being so game! :)

He was so cool and funny! :)

It was a fun fun night. Want more of it! ;)

Hmm, what's next for summer? Bora maybe?? Weee! Excited!

Eraserheads, The Final Set (I Hope Not!)

I am really hoping for there to be another set. I am a huge fan of Marcus, Buddy, Raimund and Ely and so, though putting the Sticker Happy piano on fire was a bit dramatic, it saddened me to a huge extent. Was that supposed to signify something? I think so, but I really am hoping not.

Okay so yesterday, my friends and I were at MOA early to get some lunch first, stroll around and do some personal stuff while we were waiting for the concert.

The Concert

We were there early! (at around 4:30pm) and as the concert drew nearer, it grew more and more exciting as well! Oh my goodness gracious, these are one of the things that make my heart beat thump thump thump!

Listening to my favorite local band in my iPod is one thing, but hearing and watching them live is another. I mean, no one could ever replace Eraserheads! And at some point yesterday, it seriously felt like they were The Beatles!

And can I just say, I could not believe the number of audience who came for this set! SM MOA must have seriously accumulated a huge sum of wealth because of this event! I hope I was able to get a snap of the people around the vicinity after the concert because they looked like wanting to sleep outside the mall because of the frustration of not getting any way home! My gosh, even the ordinary buses were all filled (with people who do not even look like they'd get into that kind of vehicle)!

The concert was a blast, (as I type this, my throat feels hoarse and it's hard to sing along with the videos that we took last night because anything hardly comes out from my vocal cords) But I just hope the crowd was livelier!

Rock on!

Fireworks!

When Ely finally said, "Isang sigaw para kay Francis!" and the people roared, OMG. I hope Francis M saw how we danced and sang our hearts and lungs out for Superproxy and Kaleidoscope. I am not a fan of rap music, but Francis M appealed to me in no way other rappers in the local music industry ever did.

My friend Pao, who is a fan ever since she was in third grade, documented the lineup! Haha! I loveeet!

First Set:
Magasin | Walang Nagbago | Maling Akala | Maskara | Poorman's Grave | Waiting For The Bus | Huwag Mo Nang Itanong | Slo-Mo | Alcohol | Insomnia | Torpedo

Second Set:
Julie Tearjerky | Tikman Ang Langit | Wishing Wells | Fine Time | Pare Ko | Kailan | Back To Me | Trip To Jerusalem | Spoliarium | Overdrive

Third Set:
Superproxy | Minsan| Alapaap | Kaleidoscope World | Ang Huling El Bimbo

Encore:
Ligaya | Sembreak | Toyang

Shit, I seriously think i am in love with Ely. Why are you so much cuter now??? Every single movement of your lips seemed so much different. I like your current built better too, btw. Haha. (This is so not in sync with this entry, but WTH.) I hope, we could spend more time together, a few hours is better than never... Forever would be fine.

Haay sino kaya yung inspiration sa mga love songs niyo? Ang sarap maging babae bigla eh. :P

Mabuhay ang Noypi! Bogchi!

Still on an Eheads high! Here's a clip of Torpedo, one of the songs that they played last night.

One Of The Best (or worst??) OMG Days.

Okay, so today, Ate Jus and I should be going to Trinoma to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic, get our nails groomed at Debenhams (in preparation for the Eheads concert, which is tom!!), shop for my graduation dress and buy a gift for a friend and to get a lot of walking and talking. We were all dressed up already when something really terrible happened (let's not even get into that.) It was a complete disaster!

Aww sayang ang date. Haha!

So what did I do with all the free time that's left for me? I tried practicing my makeup skills and think of looks I can create for my graduation day.

Here are some of the pics I took out of boredom after I played with my Coastal Scents eye pallete. wink!

In other news, Francis M, one of my fave artists, passed away today. :( Sad. That was really very abrupt. You may be physically gone but you will forever be remembered.

In Retrospect

One’s mind once stretched by a new idea never returns to its old dimensions. – Oliver Wendell Holmes

True enough.

I rested at around 2 a.m. last night and so waking up for Huling Pabaon was such a burden. Nevertheless, I would have to admit that it was an experience worth remembering. Being just right there at Henry Lee Irwin Theater, listening to what Ateneans would have to say about their stay at the Ateneo, to the staff who made our lives easier than most of us could ever imagine, to the professors who taught us more than just enough about the course and life and love, awakened me to the truth that indeed, I am graduating. I am now becoming an official Atenean.

Looking back, passing the ACET was just a dream come true. I never really expected it to happen. I remember it clearly; someone even had to tell me that I passed the exam. I didn’t bother joining the long queu for myself. I remember saying, whatever happens I’d know the results too. You see, it was not easy to get into the Ateneo, so I guess you are entitled to feel proud of yourself if you passed the exam.

I only took three entrance exams, all of which I luckily passed. But there was something in Ateneo that brought me to decide to spend four years of my life in it. The two other, though are very great schools as well, did not shake this decision very much. From that moment on, I found myself always reading through the pages of the Ateneo brochure and the Hau’oli invitation sent to my home. I was excited to go to school and started counting the days left before the first day of Orsem.

A lot of people think Ateneans are only smart brats and elitists. Somehow, this could be true. I say somehow because there certainly are some Ateneans who are like this. But thinking about it, being an Atenean is not enough a criterion to judge the Atenean’s character. One cannot simply use this alone and say he knows much already about the person. There certainly is more to us than meets the eye.

For the soon-to-be Ateneans, I personally think it depends highly on how you choose to better yourself. If you allow yourself to embrace and be immersed in the culture that the university exemplifies, then you will learn and realize that you have a role to accomplish in this world.

As much as the Ateneo culture is diverse, so are the many people that I met. And I am very happy to say that I was able to know a few with whom I established lasting friendships, which I know will go beyond the realms of college life.

For all its worth, I loved being in the Ateneo. It was more than just the fame and prestige that caught me. Quoting my friend Kath, “[In Ateneo], expect to be brought to hell and back for not less than a hundred times. It's not all glitz and glamour here. We get stress pimples and eye luggages too. It's difficult to get in but it's more difficult to stay and having a good head on your shoulders is not enough- a tough stamina is also needed. It's not easy and the ride will be crazy but it will be the best four years of your life if you allow it to be.” I know in my heart that I would not get to learn all the things that I know now if I chose to live the past four years of my life in a different place.

With that being said, no matter how harsh other people’s words about Ateneo may be, it won’t change the way I look at this school. I guess one would never know how it is if he does not get to spend at least a part of his life in a place that could serve a big influence on establishing his character.

Dean Ang asked us to never forget how to dream big. Dreaming big does not necessarily mean being ambitious to the extent of losing yourself to attain your dream. It is being able to reach your aspirations as you continuously extend yourselves to others.

I won’t.

And I won’t forget the place that encouraged me to do so every single day.

Ad majorem dei gloriam.

A Song For Mary

We stand on a hill
Between the earth and sky
Now all is still
Where Loyola's colors fly
Our course is run
And the setting sun
Ends Ateneo's day,
Eyes are dry at the last goodbye;
This is the Ateneo way.

Mary for you!
For your white and blue!
We pray you'll keep us, Mary
Constantly true!
We pray you'll keep us, Mary
Faithful to you!

Down from the hill,
Down to the world go I;
Rememb'ring still,
How the bright Blue Eagles fly.
Through joy and tears,
Through the laughing years,
We sing our battle song:
Win or lose,
It's the school we choose;
This is the place where we belong!

Mary for you!
For your white and blue!
We pray you'll keep us, Mary
Constantly true!
We pray you'll keep us, Mary
Faithful to you!

Missing You Missing Myself

I owe this blog a lot. As much as I want to post and speak my mind, time just won't permit. I feel like I let too much relevant emotions and experiences pass without me actually getting the chance to fully contemplate about them.

I miss my space. I bet when I get back, I'll get back with a full blow. Been thinking 'bout that but I'm not quite sure if it indeed is a good idea. My oh my, much of them were relegated at the back of my head since last last month? That was possible, err?

Be back then. Hugs my pixiedust! I'm still confused and I dunno what to do. :/

On Stumbling, and FALLING!

3.56am
A bit too early for a little mishap. And I said, Start your day with a smile. :|

It happened yet again. I was rushing to the choir loft because I didn't wanna miss the first song so I was running from where the car was parked up to the church, when suddenly, (I really don't know what happened here), nadapa na naman ako. Bakit ba ang lampa ko? Seriously. ??!!

It left me with neat, symmetrical bruises on both legs. And oh, a few scratches on the knees. :(

Countdown, 3 DAYS TO GO. I shall start making friends with these little imps!

Warmth In The Cool

Went out with Te Me, Pao and Pamei - some of the few real people I know. ;) It was pure bliss. I missed those laughs I get when I'm with people I love. :)

Had dinner at Heaven n Eggs after hours of walking. Haaay, couches are super heroes! Reaaally!

I have been kinda philosophizing on Christmas 'coz I can hardly feel it (even in the midst of Simbang Gabi and the uber cold atmosphere, which btw leaves my hands and soles really chilly, all the time!!!) but this particular date with M, P, and P was the first to make me feel the holiday spirit. Aaaw.

6 DAYS TO GO!

Love you guys! Hugs! <3
